Saskatchewan University Scholarships 2024 in Canada
The University of Saskatchewan offers the following graduate scholarships for international students in 2024-2025:
University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship (UGS)
- Provides $30,000 per year for PhD and $25,000 per year for masters students
- Includes a $5,000 travel allowance over the life of the award
- Open to new and continuing students in select departments who are nominated by their department
- Applicants must be in the first 36 months of a master’s or first 48 months of a doctoral program
- Minimum 80% average required as a continuing or prospective student
- Application deadline is February 28, 2025 at 4:30pm CST

- Art & Art History
- Curriculum Studies
- Education – cross-departmental PhD
- Indigenous Studies
- Languages, Literature, & Cultural Studies
- Large Animal Clinical Sciences
- Linguistics & Religious Studies
- Marketing
- Music
- Philosophy
- Small Animal Clinical Sciences
- Veterinary Pathology
- Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies
Other Scholarships
The University of Saskatchewan also offers the following undergraduate and graduate scholarships:
- University of Saskatchewan International Excellence Award – $10,000 CAD
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Excellence Awards – $20,000 CAD
- Canadian Curriculum Schools Awards – $15,000 CAD
- Council of International School Awards – $15,000 CAD
- Maple Leaf International School Awards – $15,000 CAD
- University Dean Scholarship – $16,000 CAD for master’s, $20,000 CAD for PhD
Eligibility and Application
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a full-time, fully-qualified student in the first 36 months of a master’s or first 48 months of a doctoral program
- Have a minimum 80% average as a continuing or prospective student
- Submit an online application by February 28, 2025 deadline
- Provide a cover letter, CV, research proposal outline, and official transcripts
- Have three letters of recommendation sent to gradstudies.awards@usask.ca
